In the main, these rules preserve the memory and records of those who suffered and died for our great nation. They foster friendship and dignity for all servicemen and women and provide assistance over a multitude of services to dependents of those who have served our country.

Tanunda RSL Sub-Branch was set up after World War II in 1946 and was Incorporated on 3rd September 1958. Since then it has played an active role in meeting these objectives.

Since the Boer War in the late 1800s, there have been 85 world conflicts and peace-keeping missions involving the Australian Defence Force.

Today, our Sub-Branch operates out of The Hut, the building shown at the masthead of this site, located at the Tanunda Recreation Park, 18 Bilyara Road, Tanunda.

Inside The Hut, we have a large collection of military memorabilia, honour boards, photographs of many of those who served, badges, and other items of interest including a bookshelf full of military history books.

There are many items of memorabilia that can be purchased such as pens, mugs, badges (example at left), stubby holders, water bottles etc, that are part of our fundraising efforts.

Our well-equipped kitchen enables us to provide meals on special occasions and for our regular Friday evening Happy Hours. Our bar has a range of beverages to cover most tastes and prices are reasonable.

The Hut is equipped with an overhead projector and screen, a 'smart' television set, and of course numerous collapsible tables and chairs.

Plenty of parking is available within the area and the building is accessible to persons using mobility scooters or associated equipment. It's also airconditioned and has a wood-fired heater for the really cold weather.

Several organisations use our Hut to hold their regular meetings or ad hoc training and information events for small donations. If you'd like to hold an event at our Hut, please contact us for further information and we can arrange a visit.
