Management Committee Feedback
Here they are:
Donation: 'Riesling Freak Wines' very generously donated 32 dozen bottles of their riesling wine that we have been selling to our members. There are still a few bottles left if interested, but it's going fast.
Our New Stove: We had to buy a new stove for the kitchen as the existing one was unserviceable, parts couldn't be obtained for it, and it would have not been cost effective to repair had we been able to get parts.
President David managed to obtain an excellent reduced price on a stove from Betta Electrical at Nuriootpa. At the time of our meeting it wasn't installed, but I'm advised that it has since been installed and waiting for a gas connection.
Eudunda RSL Luncheon Bus: A bus has been arranged for those interested members to attend the RSL Eudunda luncheon later this month. David has placed a schedule on the Hut notice board of the times and places for pickup on the day.
Quilts of Valour: There will be one more Quilts of Valour presentation this year. Names are under consideration for inclusion in the presentations.
Remembrance Day: Kym M and VP Patsy are considering holding a children's "Paint a Poppy" competition leading to Remembrance Day with a display of paintings in the foyer of the Hut. This is a work in progress and may or may not go ahead.
Historical Vehicle Club: Andrew H is leading arrangements with the club to hold a joint venture at the Tanunda Recreation Park in September-October where the vehicles would be displayed for a publicly advertised viewing and our sub-branch would hold a simultaneous open day.
We will keep you informed of the outcome of the last two topics in our Weekly Digest that is now issued Wednesdays instead of Fridays.
You could let us know in the comments what you think about our proposed Remembrance Day and Historical Vehicle Club/Open Day.

Our First Luncheon - Italian Themed
Our sub-branch is blessed with a handful of chefs who prefer to call themselves cooks. Whatever you call them, they produce some exceptional dinners and on this occasion, our first luncheon held on Sunday, 18 May 25 which was an outstanding success.
For years, we've been holding weekly or monthly dinners on Friday evenings during our Happy Hours, and we've decided now to hold occasional luncheons. This was our first effort and with around 25 members, was a top afternoon for all of us.
We get to chat, imbibe on a few nice wines or beers including our The Hut house wine, we have a laugh and nobody leaves with an empty stomach or without a smile. Our Hut is a happy place!
With Winter a hop-step-and-jump away, I expect we'll have more luncheons than dinners since members will be inclined to stay home Friday evenings, watch football and stay warm.
This luncheon was prepared by husband and wife team Tony and Elizabeth who produced a menu of:
CHICKEN CACCIATORE
A succulent chicken in tomato Basco sauce
with wine, herbs & olives
PENNE ALLA FUNGHI (V)
Penne in a dairy free creamy Mushroom sauce
Vegetables
Focaccia/Garlic Bread
Salads
Wine Recommendation: The Hut Shiraz
DESERTS
Tira Masu or Cheesecake
I just have to tell you, Tony grows award-winning Sicilian tomatoes that are to die for; a touch of salt, and they are the tastiest you'll ever find. He's won awards at local annual shows and has the certificates to prove it.
You can't get a better meal anywhere for an astonishing $25 per head.
